         Viceroy's House in Delhi was home of the British rulers of India. After 300 years that rule was coming to an end. Conflict erupts in the Mountbatten household.  The consequences reverberate to this day.

     Enjoy Lavenham from indoors.

    Meet at the Tourist Office for mince pies from 10am onwards. You will then be taken across to Little Hall, to enjoy a relaxed talk about the history of Lavenham, have a tour of Little Hall. Then a few steps across the Market Place to Vintage Blue for hot soup/roll & tea/coffee  £15 pp Must book in advance at TIC 01787 248207

     A special FREE tour around the village for residents of Lavenham, old and new. Please call into the TIC to pick up your free ticket. The tour starts from the Tourist office at 10.30am and will finish by 12 noon.  01787 248207

      Why not cosy up with us and be taken back in time to bygone Christmases in Lavenham ?

    Arrive at the Tourist Office from 10am onwards for free nibbles. At 10.30am our guide will take you on a short half hour stroll, the into the medieval Little Hall for a Christmassy talk about times past and Christmases long ago. Then at 12 noon take a few steps across the Market Place to Vintage Blue tea room for a Christmassy snack of mince pies and tea/coffee.

     The magical Christmas Tree Festival takes place over the weekend of the Christmas Fair.

    Friday 1st 11am - late

    Sat 2nd 10am - 6pm

    Sun 3rd 1pm - 5pm  - Morning Service 10.30am - 11.30am

    The fantastic Lavenham Christmas Fair starts Friday 1st December 5.30 - 8.30pm continues into Saturday 2nd  11 - 5pm and Sunday 3rd 11 - 4.30pm.

    On Saturday 2nd Dec the TIC will be holding the Traditional Lavenham Lantern Walk. Finishing at the Swan Hotel for mulled wine and mince pies. To book contact the TIC 01787 248207

    The original Lavenham Christmas Lantern Walk will take place the evening of the Lavenham Christmas Fair Saturday 2nd December at 4pm. Your guides will be in costume with lanterns, they will tell tales of Christmas past finishing in The Swan Hotel for mulled wine and mince pies.        In May 1940, Germany advanced into France, trapping allied troops on the beaches of Dunkirk. Under air and ground cover the British and French forces, slowly started evacuation. 330,000 French, British, Belgian and Dutch soldiers were safely evacuated.
