The Lavenham Community Council is a Registered Charity (number 1106956), and its aims are:

To provide and maintain recreation facilities, playing fields and community centres within the Parish of Lavenham.
To encourage leisure-time activities in the interests of social welfare for the inhabitants of Lavenham and its immediate neighbourhood.

To raise funds for carrying out the Council’s aims
Lavenham Community Council recently gained approval from the Charity Commission to widen its charitable objects away from purely sport and recreational activities to include ‘the advancement of education, improving health, relieving poverty, distress or sickness or in pursuing other charitable objects for the inhabitants of Lavenham and its immediate neighbourhood.’

The Community Council owns and operates:
Lavenham Village Hall & Events Centre, the focal point for many village activities.
The Sports Pavillion
